EVAA Girls 6A Traveling Basketball

2/13/08 - State Tourney games have been added below (an email with links to the brackets was sent to all parents today - Link is also included below).

2/11/08 - The practice schedule has been updated through the end of the season including our last MSOB session right before the State Tourney and has been added to the calendar below. We are planning to keep the originally scheduled Minnesota School of Basketball session on Saturday Feb 16th from 11:00 - 12:00 and the practice at FRMS afterwards (12:30 - 2:30). Since we have several girls playing soccer this day we will use this as a "shooting practice." We will NOT do our "Whacky Practice" on this day. ALSO - Saturday games for Eastview Tournament have been added to the schedule.

2/6/08 - Kennedy tourney game times have been added to the calendar below. Also, EVAA was able to add practices for February 16th so that is updated on the schedule as well. We are planning to keep the originally scheduled Minnesota School of Basketball session that same day from 11:00 - 12:00 and we can car pool the girls to practice from MSOB. ==> As we did last year, we'll have the last hour of this practice (1:30 - 2:30) be our "Whacky Practice" which I will explain to the girls at tomorrow's practice.

2/1/08 - The Feb 5th practice at oak Ridge has been cancelled. It has been replaced with a practice on Wed. Feb 6th at Train America (across from lakeville South High School) from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Please note the changes.

1/25/08 - The practice schedule has been changed for Super Bowl weekend. Please note the changes.

1/22/08 - Our practice schedule has been updated through February 17th. REMINDER - Our 6A team gets introduced at the Eastview varsity game tonight. They ask the girls to be there by 6:45.

A link to the Woodbury tourney info has been added to the calendar below. We play all games at the high school. 2 games Saturday morning and the rest on Sunday.

1/14/08 - Here is is the Lakeville South information for this weekend. We play Cottage Grove at 12:35 at Lakeville South High School court #3.
2nd game is at 3:55 (location TBD) / 3rd game is at 6:10 (location TBD) Games are 14 minute halves

1/9/08 - For the Lynx Clinic at half-time of the Eastview Girls Varsity Game, have the girls meet at the scorer's table at half-time. Practice on Friday from 4:40 to 5:45 at AVCC in the sportcourt gym. Tyr to have the girls there by 4:30 if possible. Following the practice on Saturday morning, the girls will go to Pooja's house to watch a movie as a team.

12/26/07 - Our practice time for Thursday, Dec 27th has been changed...it is now 6:45 - 8:15 at AVCC Sportcourt-South. Also, we will be scrimmaging the Eagan 6th grade team at our Saturday (Dec 29th) morning practice 9:45 - 11:15.

12/11/07 - Thanks for your volunteer efforts last weekend! I have updated our practice schedule through January 4th. There may be additional practices added for the week of Dec 31st...I will let you know. We are attempting to set up scrimmages with Rosemount and Eagan as well.

11/23/07 - Practice this Thanksgiving weekend on Friday evening and Saturday morning will be mostly shooting with Coach Neal. I will be attempting to schedule a scrimmage with the 5A, 6B or 6C boys teams in the near future to give us some other challenges to face in a practice setting. I will keep you updated if that happens.

11/6/07 - Ken and Neal will both be out of town this weekend for the Eagan tournament, so Larry will be coaching the girls in the games. With only one practice this week, we have decided to KEEP the practice time Saturday morning at Highland Elementary but will adjust the time from 9:00 - 10:00. We added a couple new things that Larry will walk through with the girls again and give them some time to get some additional shooting in. Please contact Larry over the weekend if you have any questions.

11/5/07 - I'm proud of how hard the girls worked this past weekend in the Eden Prairie tournament in claiming the Consolation trophy. After each tournament, coaches will evaluate the things we need to work on in upcoming practices. Now we go to Eagan this weekend where pressing is allowed all over the court, although no zones! It will be interesting to see how well we handle this adjustment. Practice tonight at ECC (4:30 - 6:00).

10/31/07 - Happy Halloween!! We are "IN" for the Eagan Tournament next weekend and I have added their link on the right. The brackets should be posted today or tomorrow. Next practice is Thursday (12/1) at FRMS-B from 6:00 - 7:45 pm. REMINDER: Get your $11 entry fee for the Eagan Tourney to Loren Peterson as he already paid it out of his pocket.

10/29/07 - The brackets for the Eden Prairie tournament are posted for this weekend. We play Roseville at 6:00 at HS8. Click on the link to the Eden Prairie Basketeball web site at the right of our team page (in the "LINKS" section). TThe girls must have their game uniform and a water bottle for each game. NOTE==> There is an EP football home playoff game there that night so please read their info regarding parking and directions. Normally we want the girls ready to go at each game 30 minutes before our scheduled game time, but for this game please be ther 45 minutes before our first game to allow for traffic and parking issues.

We have 2 practices this week on Monday (10/29) and Thursday (12/1). Both are at FRMS-B from 6:00 - 7:45 pm.

10/18/07 - We have ADDED a team lesson at Minnesota School of Basketball for Tuesday, Oct 23rd at 6:00 pm. If you checked the team site earlier today, I had a note that we had scheduled a Minnesota School of Basketball (MSOB) team session for Nov 15th at 6:00. Unfortunately this is NOT the case, as MSOB had a miscommunication regarding that date/time so it is not available. This schedule below is now correct.

Our first "official" practice is on 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm Monday, October 22nd at Eagan Commuity Center. The schedule has been updated (see below). Have the girls bring their reversible tryout jersey's to every practice, and also a water bottle. Also, an IMPORTANT REMINDER ==> please contact me if you know your daughter will miss a practice or a game. I pre-plan all practices and it helps me plan accordingly knowing how many players will be there.
